Frequently Asked Questions

Justin and I usually trade who picks the destination of our next trip. When it’s my turn I’m often inspired by my history background, or cheap flight alerts from Thrifty Traveler. I also love to use apps like Most Traveled People, this one is great because it tracks your travels not just by UN-recognized countries, but also by different regions! It encourages you to explore a country deeper than just the main touristy highlights. I get lost on there reading about places I’ve never heard of.

Short version: We make it a priority.

Long version: Since this is not my full-time job, we try to make our everyday life as budget-friendly as possible. We keep track of our finances with a Google Sheet and try to cut back on expenses as much as possible so we have the budget to travel. We also have a travel sinking fund in our bank accounts and transfer money to our travel fund every pay cheque. Having a partner that’s on the same page with travel and finances makes this easy!
